Another year has almost passed, and the season of the Winter Solstice is upon us again.  The days may be getting shorter and the weather cooler, but we can all look forward to one of the best events of the year--the Annual Acadian Group Christmas Party!

Let's not forget that it's the season of giving.  Don't leave the planet out of your gift list this year!  Bring some cash or your checkbook if you'd like to purchase a Sierra Club 2012 Wilderness Calendar ($12 for members), make a donation to your local group's efforts, or sign-up to become a Sierra Club member if you haven't done so yet.

The event is open to all and everyone is invited, so bring your friends, but don't forget to bring a dish!

Sierra Club interviews Candidate for Parish President

Join the Acadian Group of the Sierra Club on October 19th as we have a meet and greet with Mike Stagg, candidate for Lafayette Parish President.  We have also asked Joey Durel to attend, but he has a prior commitment.  Come to listen, learn, and ask questions about the future of Lafayette.

We will begin the meeting at 6:30pm at the New Lourdes hospital on Ambassador Cafferey, Conference Rm "A." Click here for a map with directions.

New Meeting Location

The Acadian Group of the Sierra Club previously met at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. We will now be meeting at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. What's changed? The location of the hospital itself.

From now on, our meetings will be held in Room 123 at the new Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center at 4801 Ambassador Caffrey Parkway, Lafayette. We still meet the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of the month, at 6:30PM, and we still welcome all members and interested individuals to attend.

• Wednesday, Aug. 10th @ 6:30pm: Acadian Group ExCom and Conservation Meeting. Lourdes Hospital, Room 123.

• Wednesday, Aug. 17th @ 6:30pm: Acadian Group General Meeting/Lecture Series. Lourdes Hospital, Room 123.
